Wouter B. & The Saywhats
In the summer of 2003 Wouter B. & The Saywhat's played an excellent show at the Noorderzon Artfestival, as guest appearance on the Airguitarshow of Meindert Lodewijks (worldfamous singer of Them Holy Rollers). Playing every song full of fire on their Costumdesigned Notone Airguitar, and faking the complete audience by letting them believe Wouter B. is a hearing person, this appearance was considered by many as the highpoint of their career.
Pleasing the crowd with his charismatic sexappeal, Wouter B.'s passionate guitarsolos of epic proportions drove the crowd to places they had never been befor!
During the concert he didn’t play one note false, and didn’t miss out on even one cord. Quite an achievement for a deaf guitarist, especially considering that his hearingaid ran out of batteries halfway during the set, leaving him with absolute silence in his earpiece.

After leaving the crowd screaming for more, Wouter B. was approached as a real person, considering his deafness as an small problem of minor importance, in stead of the usual "oh. he is deaf, so this is much to hard, I'd better not deal with him.".
Unable to cope with such overwhelming success, Wouter B. fled into impossible artist behaviour, demanding only blue M&Ms and beautiful ladies in his dressingroom, and forcing management into renaming “The Saywhats” into “Wouter B. & The Saywhats.”

Unfortunally, torn apart by sex, drugs and Rock & Roll and the fact that no one was willing to separate blue M&Ms is his dressingroom, Wouter B. was forced to retire from the musicscene late 2003.
With Wouter B. leaving the band, The Saywhats never quite reached their old level of excellence ever again. The only thing remaining of this period are priceless memories and these two pictures.
Today, Wouter B. leads a secluded live with his girlfriend (sorry ladies), making a living as a drawer of technical installations at an engineering company. In a recent interview, on questions surrounding rumours of a reuniontour by Wouter B. & The Saywhat's in its original setting, Wouter B. replied: “Sorry? What did you say?”
